CORRIGAN – It's official. Basketball season is here.

The Corrigan-Camden Lady Dawg Basketball teams are already on the courts. The Lady Dawgs opened their regular season last week.

This year the Ryan Hall is head coach and Shidana Dixon is the junior varsity coach.

The C-CHS Varsity team consists of Alex Harrell, senior; Erica White, senior; Zomaria McQueen, junior; Mya Williams, junior; Taylor Handley, sophomore; Mecie Horace, sophomore; Chloe Johnson, sophomore; Charisma Mallard, sophomore; Dadrionna Patterson, sophomore; and Ladeja Daniels, freshman.

The C-CHS junior varsity Team includes Jaylyn Brannon, junior; Kamiah Harrison, junior; Jamiah Harrison, junior; Leticia Sarmiento, junior; Kendrianna Johnson, junior; Kiarra Singleton, junior; Jada Clemons, sophomore; Litzy Flores, sophomore; Bre'Anna Owens, sophomore; Cassy Nguyen, sophomore; Elexington Freeman, freshman; Katy Mills, freshman; Shakire Martin, freshman; and Elizabeth Ochoa, freshman.

This year's managers are Eryka Price and Paige Hooks.

Head Coach Ron Hall stated that the team is optimistic on having a better year than last since "the girls team didn't get a win at all last year."

"This year, we are looking to see a lot of improvement over last year, not just with some wins, but with an overall improvement in the basketball program. We have a quick and athletic group this year that is also very young, and we are going to have to rely on our speed and quickness to pressure teams. We have a lot of areas we need to improve, but our goal this year is to get our young team to simply be competitive in our very tough basketball district and maybe even surprise a few teams along the way," said Hall.

No doubt Corrigan-Camden basketball fans are excited to get the season underway.
Good luck to Coach Hall, Coach Dixon and the teams for a winning season.
